THE WELL
A Living Laboratory for Human Flourishing
A gathering place for evidence, experience, curiosity and connection...drawing from science, nature, movement, nourishment, creativity, and the continually unfolding intelligence of being alive.
I have always been drawn to the places where disciplines meet.
Music and mathematics. Movement and mindfulness. Science and art. Technology and ecology. Fungi and forests. Recovery and resilience. Human experience and the systems that shape it.
Across decades as a musician, athlete, educator, technologist, therapist, community builder and lifelong student, I have gathered practices, questions and discoveries from many different worlds. Some arrived through formal study. Others emerged from concert halls, mountains, long-distance trails, laboratories, gardens, difficult seasons and conversations with remarkable people.
THE WELL is where those streams begin to meet. It is part field journal, part research library, part workshop and part invitation: a living collection devoted to understanding how people recover, adapt, create, connect and flourish.
What appears here will not treat every tradition, theory or remedy as equally proven. I intend to distinguish established evidence from emerging research, traditional practice, informed observation and personal experience. Curiosity matters. But so do intellectual honesty, safety, context and the willingness to revise what we think we know.
This is not a declaration that I possess all the answers. It is a commitment to keep looking, learning, testing, connecting and sharing what may be useful.
Draw from the Well.
Move beyond quick answers, fashionable claims and isolated symptoms. Look beneath the surface for histories, mechanisms, relationships and root causes.
— DEPTH BEFORE CERTAINTY
Learn from science and traditional knowledge, practitioners and patients, athletes and artists, laboratories and lived experience. Insight often emerges at the intersection.
— MANY STREAMS, ONE INQUIRY
Ask what is known, what is plausible, what is merely promoted, and what remains uncertain. Respect experience without confusing it with proof.
— CURIOSITY WITH STANDARDS
Knowledge becomes meaningful through practice: breathing, moving, preparing food, recovering, resting, creating, experimenting and paying attention to what changes.
— IDEAS BROUGHT INTO THE BODY
A human life is not a collection of disconnected parts. Body, mind, relationships, environment, purpose, creativity and community continually shape one another.
— NOTHING EXISTS ALONE
THE WELL will never be finished. New research appears. Experiences deepen. Assumptions change. We return to the questions with better tools and begin again.
— A LIVING BODY OF WORK
WHAT WILL LIVE HERE.
Come draw from the well.
Then go discover something for yourself.
